Putin accomplished far more in five weeks in Syria than the Western powers managed in five years. Who is fooling who exactly? Don't tell me that the Russian forces in Syria are militarily better equipped than the Western powers.

I haven't seen much as far as his reactions to recent events, but I have seen where people have praised him for dealing with the issues at hand decisively. Unfortunately it would probably be social and political suicide to acknowledge anything that ol' Vlad does as meritorious.
