Rain ensures that New Zealand still have a glimmer of hope in saving this Test. Nathan Lyon getting the crucial wicket of Kane Williamson before play was called off for the day will makes things even tougher. I thought Williamson was slightly unlucky to have been adjudged lbw.

Unfortunate decision on BigMac ... he wasn't out!!  Luved his comments post match when asked about it by Mark Nicholas .... "Both good umps ... they're allowed to get one wrong.  Just got to cop it on the chin mate"

Unfortunately, that didn't take too long. You have to wonder whether the layoff between Tests hurt New Zealand somewhat. They haven't played a Test in 6 months. It will be interesting to see if Matt Henry comes back into the team for the second Test. He impressed against England at Lord's. Is Adam Milne still injured?
