Pakistan gave the world Javed Miandad, perhaps the most marvellous improviser of them all.

In form, Javed took the mickey out of all but the very best.

And like so many on the subcontinent he was a ferocious competitor.

For Pakistan, winning is paramount.

There is a nation to inspire, albeit not from home turf.

Mark Nicholas is my favourite cricket writer. He is, as always, extremely eloquent and insightful. Cricket is a much better game with Pakistan involved and playing at home. Just as the game is richer with a competitive West Indies team.

I am looking forward to the upcoming series with Pakistan. I'd be thrilled with a draw. In reality, I expect Pakistan to win 2-0. As Mark mentioned in his article, Pakistan have a long history of developing some of the games greatest (and most entertaining players), I really hope that cricket can return to Pakistan in the near future so that we can continue to see an influx of these superstars.

Well I think we need a Pakistan that is not so corrupt and plays the game fairly! Afterall they are the ones who made the WI missed the chance to qualify for a tournament because they pulled out of the series.
