In their series against India, Sri Lanka really struggled to build a platform. In the first Test, they lost their first two wickets for 11 in the first innings and 1 in the second innings. In the second Test, they lost their first two wickets for 75 and 33 and then in the third Test, they were 11/2 and 2/2. Mathews and Chandimal will be the key wickets.

HOT! HOT! HOT! Heat and humidity in Colombo so the Windies made sure they got the fluids in the tank

Pakistan have slipped to No. 9 in the ODI rankings - if they had been No. 9 three days ago

they would not have qualified for the Champions Trophy

I believe a 2-0 win in the t20 matches would also move West Indies up to a tie for second place with Pakistan and just a point behind Sri Lanka for first place.

A series draw would keep the points differential between West Indies and Sri Lanka at 7. However, if Sri Lanka win the series 2-0, they could open up a gap of as many as 16 points.

Well the West Indies can just forget about passing Sri Lanka in the test rankings for now! They should focus on avoiding the series whitewash which seems very likely with the poor display with the bat and in the field in the first match.
