The latest batch of emails released by the State Department on Wednesday revealed Russia-linked hackers attempted to break into Hillary Clinton’s private email account at least five times while she served as secretary of state. It’s still unclear if she opened any of the infected emails or exposed her account, the AP reports. The hacks were disguised as speeding tickets over the course of four hours in the morning of Aug. 3, 2011. The emails gave instructions to print the attached tickets, which would have allowed hackers to seize control of the recipient’s computer. Security experts who examined the malicious software said infected servers would have transmitted data to at least three server computers overseas, including one in Russia.

I think everybody should cut her some slack. It is not like she used those emails to plan assassination attempts or government toppling in other countries.

I think Hillary was lucky she did not fall for the trap and the hackers should of known that she would not fall for that sort of trap that easily, these hackers may have wanted to know classified information. It is good the emails were not opened as it would of infected the computers and getting data back would of taken a long time, and it is important to be aware of the viruses. I reckon that we can learn something from this incident and it can be important not to fall for things and be aware, of what is the message about and ignore it.
