What annoyed Simmons the most was elements outside the selection panel, although he would not identify who forced

the final vote. "That's not the disappointing fact. The disappointing fact is that you can lose 3-2 in a vote-off but there is too much

interference from outside in the selection of the ODI squad and it's disappointing for me to know that in any aspect of life

… [people would use] their position to get people into a squad; or in this case, get people left out of a squad.

It is wrong and I don't like it and that is my beef with the selection of the ODI team."

"The chairman, Mr Lloyd, he came and he gave an exceptional speech saying that he thinks it is time they are back

in the squad and he gave exceptional reasons for them being back in the squad.

Unfortunately, when we went into the selection [meeting] we lost it 3-2.

Politics in windies cricket.    Hahaaaa

Everyone was blaming Lloyd :

Now with Simmons claiming Lloyd was fully supportive .

Wonder whom will get the blame now ????

Skameron ? Muirhead ?  eldine baptiste, selector  ?

I think PYBUS

It's never a good thing when a selector starts identifying those on the panel who have voted for or against a particular player or players. This approach has the potential to undermine the very process that you are trying to protect. I can empathize with Mr. Simmons' frustrations, but verbally pointing out - by the process of ellimination - the selectors who voted to exclude the players in question, this can cause irreparable damage to the integrity of the entire selection process. Outside interference has no place in the selection process, but there must be a more prudent way to handle these types of issues.

Simmons ought to have known when he took the job what was going to happen.

I don't know why he is surprised.

It's been happening for years and it will continue to happen.

I hope Simmons also knows that when he eventually leaves the job WI will still be at #8 or #9 in tests/ODIs/T20s

WI cricket is doomed with these dinosaurs.
