The Texas police after getting an alert by the MacArthur High School in Irving arrested a 14 year old Muslim boy Ahmed Mohammad, when he brought school a homemade clock, mistakenly thought of as a hoax bomb by the school officials. The boy was handcuffed and fingerprinted.
The Texas police have however dropped all charges against the boy after confirming that the device was a home made invention of the boy he wished to share with his teachers. The arrest of the boy has been strongly criticized and support for the boy has outpoured tremendously on social sites such as Twitter and Facebook, including comments from NASA scientists, Mark Zuckerberg and President Obama. He also received a White house invitation. The family of the boy believed that this happened owing to the name of the boy that indicated him being a Muslim.
