He left for Guyana and Burnham welcomed him to the country and only when the Trinidad authorities discoverered Ms Benson's body that an alert went out to Guyana. In the mean time Malik fled to the Guyana jungle where he was captured and sent back to Trinidad found guilty and executed
I followed the whole story as a kid and Lord Kitchener immortalized the trial of Maichel X in Calypso.

I never followed it closely. I did not like dat fella at all an was disappointed and so did not follow.
my impression of dat story is sketchy but I was convinced Malik was guilty
