Wall Street opens sharply higher following goods data
Reuters

- U.S. stocks opened sharply higher on Wednesday, with all three major indexes up about 2 percent, after data showed durable goods orders rose more than expected in July. Analysts had expected a fall of 4 percent. All 10 major S&P sectors were higher, led by the technology index's 3.4 percent gain. Apple rose 4 percent to give the biggest boost to the S&P and the Nasdaq.
