great stuff

finally real cricket

#12
Fifty partnership up in just 46 balls, been great entertainment this morning...

#13
Time for spin and Mark Craig from the Nursery End.

98 - 4

#14
not out given from Steve Davis but McCullum calls for a review

umpire's call, so it stays with Davis as not out but that was mightly close, some spin there for Craig !

#15
Crikey, that was too close for comfort.

111 - 4

Root 48*

24.3
Craig to Root, FOUR, drops the length slightly and Root is onto it very quickly to pull past square leg, hundred up !!

24.6ย  Craig to Root, FOUR, finds the gap again, another back foot punch and this sails away down the hill,

24.5ย  Craig to Root, FOUR, touch short again and this is cracked out wide of point, four more, well timed once more

113 - 4 after 26 overs

Joe Root 49*

Lunch , Day 1

Fantastic morning of cricket. First hour belonged solely to New Zealand. Good captaincy from McCullum with his bowling changes. Good aggressive fight back from Root and Stokes. England still in a precarious position.

#19
After that lickety-split first session, everyone will be feeling roundly stuffed.ย  ;D

127 - 4 after 31

Joe Root 57* Stokes 47*
