Ahmed, who applied for refugee status in Australia when he fled Pakistan after being targeted by religious extremists for his involvement with Non-Government Organisations that campaigned for female education, access to clean water and vaccinations for polio and hepatitis, was selected after some tremendous efforts for Victoria.
Krejza said Ahmed offered the Australian team an "asset" every international side craved.
"It's been a while since we've had a leg spinner and it's exciting because they're usually wicket-takers," he said. "Watching him bowl suggests Fawad has all the traits and tricks of a world-class bowler.[/size]
