BALDATH MAHABIR hopes that his years of business and his cricket administration experience, alongside the iconic cricket status of former West Indies fast bowler Joel Garner, can prove to be a winning combination in their president and vice-president bids ahead of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) election, this Saturday at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
In a wide-ranging interview, Mahabir, who is the WICB Chairman of Marketing, spoke in depth about his administrative and sporting background and articulated the vision of the Garner/Mahabir slate and the plans to tackle the dilemma with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
“We (the WICB) have credibility and respect issues. The fans in the Caribbean have lost respect for the WICB,†explained Mahabir.
