I am curious to see who is chosen to open the batting with Cook. It looks as though Trott will be given first chance although I must admit that I would like to see what Adam Lyth has to offer. He was fantastic last year on the county scene although did struggle a bit on the recent Lions tour of South Africa.

Trott it will be as a known quantity. Adam gotta swallow it up for now !  Wink

I think you are right. Trott will likely be given the first opportunity although I was surprised to read today that Cook claims he and Moores haven't had a direct conversation as to who will open the batting. That seems bizarre to me. Maybe they will just draw names out of a hat?  :o

The Guardian suggests that Stokes will likely be guaranteed a place in the England XI. I am not sure he really warrants a place in the team in light of his recent form. My own XI for the first Test would be: Cook, Lyth, Ballance, Bell, Root, Buttler, Rashid, Jordan, Broad, Wood, Anderson.

Good XI ! dont play Jordan in the 3rd Test at his home in Barbados  Wink

everything pointing towards Plunkett for Wood ..

I think the actual XI that will play in the first Test will look more like: Cook ©, Trott, Ballance, Bell, Root, Buttler, (wk), Stokes, Rashid, Broad, Plunkett, Anderson. Deep batting, suspect bowling. I really hope Jordan is in the side. I'd pick him over both Stokes and Plunkett.
