Bronx drummer wins Guitar Center’s drum-off

A Bronx man was the winner of a nationwide competition held by Guitar Center to find undiscovered and talented drummers.

This past January, Shariq Turner was announced as the winner of the Guitar Center's 26th Annual Drum-Off competition and took home $25,000.

Turner says he learned to drum when he was just 3-years-old. He says he decided to use a portion of his winnings to give back.
