my car door wont open

all the panel on door off. it looks like the cable from handle came off. very unusual

Yeah, that does sound unusual.

Maybe somebody did that trying to break in.

no no breakin but it came off.

all is well. he has hooked up the cable and putting panel back in. then oil change. then fixing a loose panel.

all in a days work for my mobile mechanic.

It could have been an amateur not knowing what he's doing and didn't succeed with the break in but managed to knock the cable off. You know, with that flat thing they use to slide in and lift the lock?

no.  you will know when they try to breakin.

But I find it very odd that a door cable would just slide off.

Did the mechanic tell you why the cable came off?
