* Imagine!  Shiv Chanderpaul is ranked #6 in the world and some West Indians are bawling he should be dropped from the team. It's sheer envy and prejudice from those wankers.

[/quote]

* Shiv last played oneday cricket in 2011----the world cup.

* In Jan 2011 Shiv ranked #8---see link:

LINK

* Shiv last match was in March 2011----his ranking had dropped to #20

Link2

* Shiv was dropped because Gibson said he was putting together a team to win the 2015 world cup.

* Well, 2015 is here and that team has still not been put together---and Gibson has been fired.

* In the meantime Shiv is still playing----although he recently shyt his pants in SA in tests.

Everything about Shiv was mismanaged. He should have been our ODI opener from 1996 onwards and given a license to play his natural, cautious game.

When Lara retired, Shiv should have moved up the order too, batting alongside Sarwan. Instead we booted Sars and pushed Shiv down the order.

* Since Lara retired Shiv has batted at the #4 position in 13 tests---he scored 573 runs at an ordinary average of 40.92 with 1 hundred and 4 fifties.

* On the other hand, at the #5 batting position, Shiv has played in 51 tests at that position since Lara retired---he has scored 4024 runs at an extraordinary average of 75.92 with 14 100s and 21 50s

stats

BOTTOM LINE:

* Like Sobers, Shiv is a #5/#6 specialist----Sobers played 71 of his 93 tests---that's 76% of his tests at #5/6.

* Shiv has played 136 of his 161 tests at #5/6---79.5%

* I believe Ramnarine posted on twitter than Dwayne Bravo and Pollard have been dropped.

* To show what a JOKE WI cricket has become----Jason Holder is now the new Darren Sammy----he has zero captaincy experience but will likely be leading the WI ODI team in the world cup.
