It has direct application now as it pertains to religion vs. secular rights and values.
Before yesterday's massacre our governments were only too happy to appease these religious zealots and condemn the cartoons and cartoonists. In fact, most went out of their way to appease and pacify them.
The gates are slowly being opened for them. I for one will continue to fight against it for as long as I can.

Your religion has some serious problems. The problems are a large part from within. The sooner the followers of this death cult called Islam reform their religion the sooner we can see a cessation of violence, threats and intimidation from these jihadists.
