Kevin Pietersen has said he "cannot believe" Ben Stokes is not going to the World Cup with England after the all-rounder smashed 77 on his T20 Big Bash debut.

Stokes was overlooked for Peter Moores' England party for next month's tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

Stokes didn't warrant a place in the squad based on form. He couldn't buy a run and his bowling was going for 10 an over.
The bigger issue is how on earth it got to that situation.
There still is a way back for him - if England have an injury to anyone bar Buttler or Tredwell, then he will likely be the replacement if he continues to play well in the BBL.

He was taken to SL and failed miserably!

Any fool can succeed in T20, even Sammy is in demand!!

That 77 contained a couple good shots but, although I am pleased for him, I was not overly impressed.

KP just need to stick to getting runs for the stars!

kp loves to talk about england.

I've noticed that whenever KP is in the commentary box in the BBL, the conversation inevitably turns to England and ultimately his situation with them.

He's very careful what he says ... but gets the message across !!!

Petersen clearly has an axe to grind but making statement s like this make him look foolish. Stokes couldn't buy a run and he was smashed all over the ground during the recent tour of Sri Lanka. I can't believe Petersen is making me defend the selectors.

If anything the man who should be in the squad and is not is Carberry!
