Quote:England coach Peter Moores says his players need to make the public excited about watching the national team play.

The squad, which does not include Alastair Cook, fly to Australia on Tuesday for a tri-series ahead of their World Cup campaign next month.

England lost their last one-day series 5-2 to Sri Lanka last month and have won just four of their last 15 ODIs.

"The focus is on the tri-series and World Cup, which we will attack," said Moores, 52.

"We will play in a way that will make the public excited about watching England play."

So Cook with a strike rate of 76.96 loses out

#4
Golden boy David Warner has a strike rate of 83.51

Poking and jooking aint going to cut it in WORLD CUP 2015 when the eyes of the (cricket) world will be on Australia and New Zealand

Kohli at 90.51. No wonder he's a joy to watch when he is batting.

#7
Eoin Morgan have a healthy strike rate of 85.75

England have become very safe and predictable, especially when batting. They have become very defensive, settling for average scores as opposed to match winning totals. England aren't going to win the World Cup but I'd at least like them to play some exciting cricket. They have become tough to watch as of late, especially in the power plays.

The problem is Moores is an idiot, and Cooks selfish determination to continue as captain has already undermined Englands preparations. And Cook also had a hand in the selection of the squad before he resigned. He is threatening his own legacy by his behaviour.
