A member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) lost her life early yesterday morning when she was struck down by a car on Sheriff Street.
Dead is Lashana Moore, 22, of lot 917 Providence New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD). She was a corporal attached to the GDF Camp Ayanganna base for the past four years and mother of a seven-month-old child.
Police are investigating the murder of Colin Perreira, 25 years of Kitty, and attempted murder of Gail Ann Chacon, 20 years, which occurred about 2110h. last night, at Perry Street, Tucville.
Police say that initial investigations revealed that Perreira who was driving a heavily tinted motor car, with the other victim seated in the front passenger seat, attempted to turn around the vehicle, on the space in front the suspect’s residence. In the process, the suspect who was in his yard, drew his licensed handgun and discharged several rounds at the vehicle, hitting the victims about their bodies.
Police were informed and responded promptly. The victims were rushed to the GPHC, Perreira was pronounced dead on arrival and Chacon is presently undergoing surgery. Her condition is listed as critical.
Wow, that's disgusting, people don't care huh. Now the city has a big mess it needs to clean up, where does the taxes go...it makes you wonder.
The last time I saw something like that was in my area, and it was because the weather had made it nearly impossible for dumpster men to do their jobs.
Well I would be upset too, and I would definitely say the people have that very same right. I cannot speak to the circumstances here, although I am curious, or any agreements that were made or broken regarding the trash. I would really hope that people can come together and just do a common task that results in overall better quality of life, but I guess that the petty differences seem to get in the way.
