Joe Root is only 23 and already averaging 50 in tests and 40 in ODIs. Once he gets in, he seems to go on and on.

lil Bravo!

Earlier this summer Mikey Holding argued that Root shouldn't have been selected for the ODI side fearing it may ruin his development as a Test cricket. Taylor at 3 and Root at 4 has given the lineup some much needed stability. Ravi looks good at 5 and I like Buttler being saved to the death. I am still curious as to why Ravi hasn't bowled more in this series.

Dilly,

I have to admit I was one of those who agreed with Mikey and, it might seem strange, I am still not quite sold on Root for the ODIs!

However he has proven his worth and I would open with Root as he has the temperament to bat through but that is Cooky's spot!

He did very well.

Like you I am perplexed why Ravi has not been bowling!

I did warn you about Stokes a while back and sadly he is fading away very quickly.

I hope he returns but there is something about his attitude.

We have to win the next two.

Stokes has slipped behind both Jordan and Woakes, in my opinion and can't see him making the final squad based on his recent form. He has been a major disappointment for me. My guess on the final 15 as things currently stands is: Cook, Mooen Ali, Anderson, Bell, Bopara, Broad, Buttler, Finn, Hales, Jordan, Morgan, Root, Taylor, Treadwell, Woakes.

Lil Joe has got the ability plus a fitting temperament giving him the "it" factor...

Lil Lara may have the ability but is a bit of a prima donna ....and it ain't working !!!

That would be my 15 as well.

Great Moeen fan but he needs to be a bit more selective at the top and adjust to conditions.

I am not hell bent on Woakes but your squad is good!

Steven Smith, Joe Root, Kohli and Kane Williamson. They are all the future's of their respective countries.

WI has nobody who is comparable. Our players mature a full decade after those of other countries.
