Very enlightening or not as to views and particularly those who stayed away from it. Somewhat surprised at Ketch trying to dodge the issue but not altogether so. However, his obvious misconception of Arab/middle eastern women vs those of born/bred Saudi women... big difference.

I have spent many, many years of my life across the Persian Gulf and also other continents (I was fortunate to have lived and experienced an exciting expatriate life) accompanying my husband in his working career ... 2 of those years in the Middle East were actually in Saudi Arabia 1983-85.

That was precisely my point Cal.
The "Saudi" woman he kept referring to is a complete fiction. He's never met one Saudi woman in his life, much less a sexually liberated one.
I Ketch is like most of the so-called "moderate Muslims" I know who deliberately dodge these prickly issues because deep down they agree with how women are treated in Saudi Arabia. They see that country as the manifestation of the various despicable Koranic edicts and commandments. In fact, most of the so-called "moderate Muslims" want those barbaric Sharia laws legislated here in Canada.
The irony of such a stupid proposition is not lost on most people since it is precisely because of Western secularism, and secularist laws, which allow these morons the freedom to spout their non-sense. And I feel this way about all religiouns. Not just Islam. I abhor all these religious nuts who advocate for the eradication of the secularism and implementation of theocratic values.
