Players Acted Unreasonably

Probably not a popular view among fans but I believe their decision to leave the tour was a mistake.

There is no telling the harm that will befall West Indies cricket as a consequence of such thoughtlessness. It's bad financial circumstances will be made worse; it is unlikely anyone will really benefit from this fiasco. The players did not seem to realize this despite the pleadings of cricket legends Richie Richardson, Curtly Ambrose and Clive Lloyd. Or perhaps they just didn't care.

I have a lot of time for Michael Holding. So much so that if I hear him expound an opinion on cricket with which I disagree, I revisit and re-examine mine. I do not always change it to fall in line with that of the great fast bowler, but I greatly respect his views. Try as I might however, I can't agree with him that the WICB is solely responsible for this latest mess.

The WICB must share some blame. While protocol suggests that they negotiate only with WIPA as they argued, common sense demanded that President Cameron should have met with the players after Bravo wrote to him detailing their impasse with WIPA and requested a meeting. Since the WICB members are ultimately responsible for Caribbean cricket then they have a much greater responsibility than anyone else to protect its well-being. A meeting with the players, and probably a promise to reopen negotiations might have saved the tour. In retrospect it is a decision they likely regret.

How I really feel about this situation cannot be expressed here. However, should the BCCI go thru with their legal proceedings it will cost the asses that run WI cricket more that it would have taken for them to get on a plane over to India and sort things out with the Player. I am positive that wouldn't have cost them $65M to renegotiate with the players. Their stubbornness and "colonial" mentality prevailed and will now cost them millions in losses in the long term

Whatever the faults regarding the causes of the row, the players are going to get it in the neck as they were the ones to pull the plug.
Of course older players can become distant from the grassroots, but they can also be the ones with the length of experience (and the length of relationship with the managers on the board) to say "enough is enough, we've heard it all before, and we don't think anything's going to change without drastic action". I don't know enough to judge which is the case here.
How is India the best tour to do this on? It may get more attention, but the reprisals for this action surely dwarf the reprisals for a cancelled tour of the UAE or NZ.

Bravo and Pollard were the ring Leaders of this Stupidity.

These 2 are NOT in the TEST squad and has destroyed those format players.

Bravo and Pollard are to blamed for this.That was some heights of the traits of an imbecile.Well they should have weighed in better options.Now they won't get any more tours after this dismal one.

What's going to happen to the players? I'm pretty new to the entire thing and I have absolutely no idea the punishment for this.
