1970 - 1992 : a 22 year period of apartheid BAN.

Prior to 1970 , South Africa was arguably the strongest side in the World :

Graeme Pollock and brother Peter, Eddie Barlow, Mike Procter . Barry Richards et al.

Pity Viv never met the Fire  :-[

* THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE.

* Up to 1970, South Africa had 2 bowlers that stood out.

* Tayfield took 170 wickets in 37 tests @25.91 avg

* Peter Pollock took 116 wickets in 28 tests @24.81

* The other SA bowlers were good or ordinary.

* Actually Mike Proctor had 41 wkts in 7 tests----the ban surely affected him---he was a great bowler in English county cricket.
