Cheddi (Joey) Jagan (Jr), who was a candidate for the PPP/C at the 2011 general elections, has called on the government to convene local government elections before the end of the year.
In a letter in yesterday’s Stabroek News, Jagan said “Local elections in one year was the promise made to me personally by the President (Donald Ramotar) when he enlisted my support in the last 2011 elections and as a candidate on the PPP/Civic list, I am pleading with that party to hold local elections
No sir...never voted for ppp...my contention was that the ppp was a better alternative for the indians than the pnc...but now it is hard to tell the difference.
This PPP is not the same one Dr Cheddi created. quite the opposite. And they are almost at the end of the goodwill bank Dr. Cheddi created with the people. People are looking for an alternative....but it has to come from within.
googs na start me with this ppp thingy...did Cheddie know what he created? These soupies are from the ppp machine. They are all part of the ppp-elitism. Cheddie sold out the rights of the Indos from the beginning...starting with the closure of the sugar estates. Killed life and livelihood, destroyed the cane cutters, without giving them an alternative. All he was concerned about was staking a claim to the leadership of Guyana on the backs of the Indos, and when he was done with that he duly informed them that ppp wasn't a party for the Inods. Not good to speak ill of the dead, but I rather be truthful than patronizing. Screw them all.
