Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Ashraful's eight-year suspension for match- and spot-fixing has been almost halved.

Ashraful, who was charged for corruption during the 2013 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, had appealed the ban earlier this year.

The penalty has subsequently been reduced to five years, with 24 months suspended subject to his participation in a Bangladesh Cricket Board or International Cricket Council anti-corruption education and training programme.
