Residents who took part in a protest at Letter Kenny Village on Sunday night could face charges for their participation in the night’s dramatic events, including the torching of a car.
The protest was sparked by the killing of Reena Singh, 18, of Letter Kenny Village by a speeding car and saw the residents of the Corentyne village lighting the vehicle on fire shortly after the accident.

Interrogating the suspected driver of the vehicle, seems to be a greater challenge than charging the protestors. This is opting for the easier way out. The residents became infuriated when they found fake identification cards, camouflage clothing and a toy gun in the said car. And quite rightly so. Sadly this girl's death seems to have prevented the robbery and possible deaths of other innocent persons.
However, it goes to show how much the people are alienated from the Police and also their Government. They are probably experiencing similar feelings as those from Linden who attended the recent Congress of the PNC.

EDINBURGH, Scotland — Scotland’s pro-independence leader Alex Salmond says he is resigning as first minister and leader of his political party after Scots voted to remain in the United Kingdom.

Salmond told reporters at a news conference Friday that he was proud of the campaign and the record turnout for Thursday’s vote.

He said: “For Scotland the campaign is not over and the dream will never die.”
