Ahmed Shehzad makes religious statement to Tillakaratne Dilshan

Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has allegedly made a religious comment to Tillakaratne Dilshan while walking back towards the pavilion after the third One-Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Dambulla. Shehzad is seen in the video saying that when a non-muslim converts to muslim, no matter whatever he does in life he goes straight to heaven.

The video footage from Ten Sports has been uploaded on YouTube by Asian Mirror, a newspaper from Sri Lanka. There are reports that Pakistan Cricket Board is probing the incident that occurred after the third ODI. Dilshan was a muslim before converting to Buddhism at the age of 16. Dilshan, before converting was known as Tuwan Muhammad Dilshan.

“Ahmed has informed the PCB that it was his personal chat with Dilshan, and there was nothing more to it. What we understand is that no Sri Lanka Cricket official or our own manager lodged any complaint.” Pakistan cricket’s media manager Agha Akbar has been quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

Shezad may NOT have known that Dilshan :

would be a REconvert : hence that statement may not apply  ::LOL::

Dilshan was muslim before converting to Buddhism at the age of 16.

Dilshan, before converting was known as Tuwan Muhammad ... :-[

If with the guidance in the Qur'an supplemented by the Hadiths one does not become a good Human then you have failed in following what has been asked/ rules.


Please note, I am neither talking about what is portrayed in the media nor the actions of a few.


If someone ever tells you something about Islam you should always ask for the reference either to the Qur'an or Hadiths (what the Prophet pbuh, did and said during his lifetime). Nothing of substance is based in opinions, cultures etc.


Forgiveness is principally through Taubah (repentance) but it is widely held that a person accepting Islam will have all his sins forgiven having recited the Shahadah (declaration of faith) and there is reference in the Qur'an for this 8:38 and others.


However one is not guaranteed Jannah (heaven) unless after becoming a Muslim he dies on the spot. Having accepted Islam, by the declaration of faith, it is your future good deeds that takes you to paradise.


The Qur'an should not be quoted out of context and it should be read in its entirety to understand the true meaning.
