Russia bans food imports from West
Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev announces a total embargo on food imports from Western countries in response to sanctions over Ukraine.
Now this is interesting news.
Living in Iceland this has been on the news a lot lately. Now a local politician is asking in the media why Iceland was not on the trade embargo list. Like it's a bad thing not been given trade embargo. I may be a bit younger and naive, but, I am not sure getting a trade embargo from one of the biggest countries in the world is a bad thing.
It's a magical country alright!
But if we demand to be banned from Russian imports that is just plain insanity. I understand the need to keep the US and most of the western world pleased but wanting answers from Russia regarding why we where not put on the ban list is no the smartest move. The Russians probably see us as the small nation we are, with limited say in what goes on in the world. Icelandic people tend to think a bit to highly of themselves, myself included
