One of the most graceful batsmen to play the game in a 128-game Test and 144-game ODI career that produced a combined 17,000 runs, 49-year-old Waugh officially began his role as a selector earlier this month.
“I was asked a few years ago to join the panel but it just wasn’t the right time,’’ he said.
