Sania Mirza wishes Shoaib Malik had hit Tino Best during CPL 2014 match

Sania Mirza has reacted to the incident involving Shoaib Malik and Tino Best in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Malik is Mirza’s husband and was involved in a heated exchange with Best during the CPL match between Barbados Tridents and St Lucia Zouks. The Indian tennis star tweeted about the incident, condemning Best’s behavior.

Mirza stated on her Twitter page, “Racial abusing on a cricket field?disgusting.i knw @realshoaibmalik didn’t hit him but how I wish he would hav! #tinobest #idiot (sic).” It is shocking considering that Mirza tweeted that she wished Malik would have hit Best.

In the 15th over of the match, Malik walked across his stumps to Best and was bowled. Best celebrated and said something as Malik made his way back. Malik quickly stopped him and was seen telling him something and pointing his finger. The umpires had to intervene and Malik walked back in anger

An MP from India's ruling BJP party has questioned the appointment of tennis star :

Sania Mirza as brand ambassador of the newly-created state of Telangana

because she is married to a Pakistani.

                 

K Laxman said Mirza's marriage to cricketer Shoaib Malik had made her a:

"daughter-in-law" of Pakistan.    ::LOL::

Sania has responded by saying she is :

"an Indian and will remain so until the end of my life". 

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao handed over a letter of appointment

and a cheque for 10m rupees ($166,380; £97,775) :

to the 27-year-old tennis player at a function in the state capital, Hyderabad.

The chief minister described her as a "true Hyderabadi"

and said that "Telangana is proud" of her.  8)

Mr Laxman also says that the tennis player is not fit for the honour as she is not local -

he says she was born in the neighbouring state of Maharashtra

and that her family moved to Hyderabad later.  ;D
