Breaking news: England add spinner Simon Kerrigan to 14-man squad for second Test at Lord's

Full 2nd Test squad Cook, Ali , Anderson, Ballance, Bell, Broad, Jordan, Kerrigan, Plunkett, Prior, Robson, Root, Stokes, Woakes

Licks for Kerrigan if he get into the 11.

I think England will stick with the first test team and hope to hell they get a pitch that helps the fast bowlers.

Not exactly a "great" option tbh, but I guess given that Monty is out of the picture he's the best they've got. Borthwick might not be the worst option, but I guess I'd still pick Kerrigan between them two.

Moeen is already one of the better spinners they have, which is pretty dire when you think of it.

haha...not a good idea to have Moeen as your front line spinner !

same with Joe Root !

Lets see if Kerigan get lixxย  Wink

In the 2nd test he had figures of none for 53 in eight overs in the first innings and was not asked to bowl in the second.England would do better with having to bowl Moeen ali in the test. Its the pitch they have to concentrate on.More livelier pitches would do.

This might be one of the saddest statement of facts I have heard in a while. It's shocking to think that Moeen is a top 3 spinner in English County cricket.
