* That knee injury in Barbados affected Shiv, so I'll give him a pass on his poor performance in Barbados.
* My only peeve with Shiv was his getting out LBW in Trinidad to Sodhi on 47---twice in a row he got out not playing a shot----that 2nd LBWย was inexcusable.

* Why was it OK for Clive Lloyd, Lance Gibbs and George Headley to play test cricket after age 40 and not Shiv Chanderpaul ?
* PREJUDICE and RACISM plain and simple.
* Everytime Shiv has a poor test the HATERS and RACISTS come out of the woodwork and call for him to retire.
* But we all know the Shivster is a STATS MAN---and he has zero intention of retiring.

Hey Rev, pardon my ignorance, but how exactly does Racism come into the equation here? I don't know about the haters bit either - I thought everyone liked him? If they don't then that certainly comes across as a shock to me.
It is written on the walls,"SHIV will be the highest run scorer for the windies" and it won't change for sure.Over the next 8 tests, shiv stands a great chance to give his test average a boost against bangladesh. Those 4 innings can propel his average and his runs. The remaining 5 will be mere formality as i expect shiv to cross lara's landmark after those 2 tests
* Right now Shiv's test average after 156 tests is 51.88
* Now, if in his next 16 test innings Shiv were to score 25 runs each innings---that's 400 runs---Shiv's overall average would still be 50+----actually it will be 50.05
* Of course, those 400 runs would only take Shiv to 11,814 ---186 short of 12,000
* Anyway, no way Shiv will only score 25 runs an innings----no facting way----no matter how much his HATERS pray for him to fail----Shiv will not score 25 runs per innings over his next 16 innings(8 tests).
BOTTOM LINE:
* Shiv will end his test career scoring 12,000+ test runs at a 50+ test average.
