Why is Lendl Simmonds being left out of the West Indies Test team?

How longer ago did Simmons play his last test match? His form over the last year has improved a lot and I feel that he would do a much better job than some of these current batsmen. He should be given another chance to prove himself because the West indies doesn't really have much better options where batsmen are concerned.

look, some people are not not test material.  Lendl Simmons is one of them.  Current WI batting coach was another!

Blackwood may have made a difference, but you gotta be joking if you take average of a player and ask someone to "do the math". Especially considering that this "average" comes from playing a SINGLE innings.
