In Malaysia’s innings, captain Ahmad Faiz Mohammad Noor continued his consistent batting when he scored 70 runs off 93 balls and ensured Malaysia came out victors with 201 runs in 42.4 overs. “My plan was to spend more time on the wicket and focus on my strengths. I played more along the ground. That tactic paid off when I scored more boundaries and took quick singles,†said Ahmad Faiz, who bagged the man-of-the-match award. Malaysia take on Singapore in the final for the Division Four championship trophy today. The promotion represents a significant achievement for the team as they were only promoted from Division Five in March.
