Kane Williamson's unbeaten 58 rescued New Zealand as they reached 123-3 at stumps on day three of the third Test with West Indies. Skipper Denesh Ramdin made 45, while Jason Holder chipped in with 38 as Windies sneaked in front midway through the third day in Barbados. And the bowlers then got straight to work on the Black Caps' batsmen, reducing them to 68-3 at one stage, with Tom Latham, who fell for a nine-ball duck, Hamish Rutherford (9) and Ross Taylor (6) all back in the pavilion in a hurry. But Williamson dug in to hit 11 fours in an assured knock and he shared an unbroken stand of 55 with Kiwi captain Brendon McCullum, who will start day four on 23. Paceman Kemar Roach has two of the wickets to fall, while Holder claimed the other one in a miserly five-over spell. There is still plenty of time left in the match and all results are possible, with New Zealand leading by 99 runs, but much will depend on whether the present incumbents can build on their partnership and set the home side a decent fourth-innings target on day five.
