* First of all congrats to Skipper Denesh Ramdin on his first test victory.

* WI is current ranked #8 in tests; NZ is ranked #6

* So this was a win against a higher ranked team----a rarity for the WI team.

* Ramdin said his bowlers got a bit lazy at the end of NZ innings----from 210/8, NZ ended up at 331-----the last 2 wickets added 121.

* WI batsmen should remarkable application in the first innings---excellent hundreds by young Bravo and Brathwaite. And solid fifties from Edwards and debutant Blackwood.

* The bowlers dismissed NZ twice----but Gabriel is the weak link and he'd be lucky to play in Barbados---actually Gabriel got 4 wickets in the match---so he may very well play in Barbados.

* Great to see Onry back to his normal attacking self in the 2nd innings-----80* in 46 balls

* Some folks were calling for Onry to be dropped----he shamed them.

* Excellent win.

* GOOD LUCK TO RAMDIN AND THE BOYS IN BARBADOS.

RAMDIN DISPLEASED WITH HIS BATTING

* He has gotten 3 good starts in the series: 39, 34, 32

* He says he needs to bat on.

* In the past 2 calendar years Ramdin has looked like a bonafide batsman----and he has produced like a bonafide batsman----averaging in the mid 40s.

THE TOP 8 WICKET TAKERS AT KENSINGTON OVAL ARE ALL QUICKS

* Click on link:

* Roach and Taylor will definitely play.

* Roach has taken 13 wickets in 3 tests at Kensington.

* Since Gabriel took 4 wickets in Trinidad, he'll likely be retained.

GABRIEL HAS TAKEN 4 WICKETS IN 1 TEST AT KENSINGTON

* 1/45 & 3/10 vs Zimbabwe

Gabriel is given a chance on his Home Turf.

I would like the same extended to Bajans Carlos and Holder.

The positive is that we get to stock our arsenal of raw Pace :

for South Africa late 2014

I like Carlos in particular although I am not really certain how good he is.

what I like is his skill set that's what.  if he is test class we have a winner

#8
I think Gabriel has done well enough to get another.  but I dont care if he gets dropped for any of the probables or for Narine.

they are all worthy

TIDBIT:

* New Zealand had gone 8 tests without a defeat

* The Trinidad defeat snaps that streak

and look at the win Rev..it was kinda easy.  west indies demonstrated all kinds of superiority

my argument has been: properly led and feeling good about itself this west indies can much better than we have been doing..up to about 4-5 in the list
