Rumour is, Ramdin is being given the Test captaincy.
I'm all for Sammy being dropped from the Test team, but keep him for T20s and, arguably, for ODIS. He's improved alot over the past 18 months.
I can't see Ramdin making any significant improvements to our Test performances. That will depend on the top order being more consitent, and us developing penetrative bowlers.
The question now is whether Ramdin has a better tactical brain than Sammy. Ramdin's T20 captaining has been good, but I havent seen much of him captaining longer formats.
If this is true then, Captainicy and tactics aside, West Indies now have the opportunity to select their best balanced team.
This has been the real issue for me and if Sammy was on par with Big Bravo, then that would have been ok.
Ramdin or whoever is chosen to lead, should this rumour turn out true, would have a balanced team and they have to be given a long run.
I cannot see Gayle and Samuels lasting much longer and with Barath and Brathwaite not ready problems will be created.
However I hope this true.
I would be happy to see Sammy play only in T20s and he can have the captaincy of that but not selected for ODIs although you are right is pointing put he has shown improvements over the last 18 months or so.
The real change I would make is to recall shiv for ODIs.
