The same thing happens to elephants when they eat rotting (and, thereby, fermenting) Marula fruits that fall from trees January through March in southern Africa. These elephants were discovered enjoying the effects of fermented Merula in Kruger National Park, South Africa, stumbling and falling over in ways familiar to humans who've had too much to drink. Marulas are related to mangos and cashews.
