The figure of Shiva, as Lord of the Dance, is thought to have been looted from a temple in India

The National Gallery of Australia has removed one of the statues of the god Shiva from display.

It was purchased for $5m  in 2008 from a New York dealer who is accused of looting antiquities.

The dealer, Subhash Kapoor, is awaiting trial in India, where he is accused of looting statues

and other antiquities in a multi-million dollar enterprise.  ::LOL::

India has demanded the return of two ancient Hindu statues :

from galleries in Australia following allegations they were stolen.

While they are demanding that return, they should be demanding the return of all the jewels and loot England "acquired"

(thats how the English label the Indian Jewels in their museums - "acquired")  ::LOL::
