U.S. Cuts Military Ties to Russia

The Pentagon suspended all military engagements with Russia Monday night, including bilateral meetings, planning conferences, exercises, and port visits. A spokesman said the relationship has been valuable in reducing the risk of military miscalculation, but requested Russian forces withdraw from Ukraine's Crimea region. According to Ukraine's ambassador to the U.N., there are currently 16,000 troops deployed in the region.
