Graeme Smith was one of the greatest player ever to grace the cricket field. He holds the record for being the most successful captain and also the captain with the most number of matches played as a captain of the side. He was also a very successful batsman for South Africa, having an average of over 40 in test cricket. He leaves a big gap in this South Africa side with his retirement.

Graeme Smith is a cricketer I've always respected. He was very intimidating at his peak. I don't remember the year, but during a tour of England, he was virtually impossible to get out. I think he scored two double centuries in that series. The cricket world is surely losing a very good captain and a very domineering batsman. I wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to pursue now.
