Good Business...the man alive and well....AT 79

#3
Charlie Griffith knocked him  unconscious for six days, requiring a blood transfusion :

for which West Indies captain Frank Worrell was the first to donate his blood...

IIRC , someone opened a window and the sun glare was straight in Contractor eye ...dem days there was NO sight screen !

But the Indian ended up with Afro mixed blood .... life was saved but his international career was abruptly ended as a result...

#4
Nariman Jamshed Contractor !

The name Nariman is a common one for muslim GIRLS in Guyana ... Wink

The Parsi community celebrated its New Year on Sunday

Speaking exclusively from England,  “It is also remarkable that four Parsi cricketers played together and this is an achievement for the community”.

Nari Contractor, Polly Umrigar, Farokh Engineer and Rusi Surti played two Tests
together in West Indies in 1962.

{AAAh!  Parsi..Iran, Zoroastrian.

(anyway I found the answer I was looking for on genes.  tenks)

More importantly did ou witness the 4 :

Nari , Polly , Faorokh and Surti :

back in 1962 ...Trinidad ?  :-\

#10
yes I know the 4...

Engineer was my fave Indian batsman then.  he used to keep as well.

Rusi Surti was a left armer  medium pace..all rounder.

Umrigar was one of their best batsmen.

I can almost name that 1962 team from memory...Borde, Prassana, Sardesai, Durani, Contractor, The Nawab, Nadkarni.

with the 4 above thats 11.  and by the next 10 minutes I will have the rest

yes I know that quartet well.  I did not know the Farsi part of it
