ramesh do not wish England to steal his beloved Gibson ! :-[
Every single team that toured recently has lost with the Exception South Africa in England. Gibson won 6 in a row prior to these 2 touring defeats
Oz lost 4-0 in India and the Coach was sacked with Lehmann as replacement.
Prior to NZ going to SL they had anew Coach as the incumbent felt he could do no more and for the sake of their Cricket stepped down.
Pakistan is just about to release Dav Watmore.
I would not be surprised if Kirsten comes to England next as he has done what he needed to do and take SA to the top of the Test rankings, which he previously did with India, albeit for a shorter period and winning the World Cup. He could have stayed on.
Gibson has just completed his fourth year as Windies Coach and, Jala, if you think he deserves to stay on then.........
Other Coaches would have done the right thing for the team.....
Was listening to Vaughan yesterday and he was suggesting the players had become scared of Flower which I find amazing. He always seemed to support the players freedom to have down time, relax and have a pint or two.
He did not court the media and rarely gave interviews and when he did, he was measured and very balanced.
We rose to number 1 and have been in the top 2-3 for some time now, until the Australian debacle.
Trotts' leaving the tour really did seem to undermine this team and Cooky was not the greatest at times as Skipper.
I cannot imagine he was sacked after this one failure. He is a dignified man and he probably felt well I cannot do anymore, let someone else have a go.
If Gilo's chopping and changing the team, as he did in the ODI and T20 series, is a sig of things to come then we are back to teh bad old days.
One of the things Flower did was persevere with players and under Flower, Bell flourished as he was close to the chope despite his vast abilities.
Flower cannot go out there and bat for the team but if Vaughan is correct then perhaps it is time for a change.

Vaughan seems to be talking out of his arse IMHO. If players were "scared", that'd have showed up way earlier. He's produced good results, and possibly one of the best coaches England's ever had.
Yeah, shit happens, it gets so much spotlight and is put under scrutiny because it's the Ashes.
And it was aggravated by the whole Trott/Swann scenario, which didn't help one bit.
Do you really think Gilo's gonna do jack? I mean god.

He decided to step down.
A man of dignity and integrity.
Do you think Gibson should demonstrate similar characteristics?
Are you serious Mail ?? .... a man of integrity and dignity who steps down VS a man who negotiates a new 3 year contract with a pay increase ????!!! LOL ::LOL:: ::LOL::
I hear you but was hoping Gibson would learn as he has now been in post for 4 years!
Even Shiv' s biggest fan, Dujon, will tell you Bishoo was over bowled and discarded. There seems to be no real system for nurturing. Bishoo was a great prospect and Gibson has destroyed him.
The selectors, no doubt influenced by Gibson, go back to a confirmed failure in Best at the expense of Ravi and giving Holder a shot.
I do not know how anyone can negotiate such a contract. Perhaps he is not as stupid after all! Lol
