“No one man can win or lose (any) game for (any) team and the team playing poorly has nothing to do with Darren Sammy alone and that is really an unfair criticism,†Ambrose said.
“Every single member of the team has to be blamed for the poor performances. When you are winning, everybody gets the credit including the captain. But we in the Caribbean have a tendency that as soon as anything is going wrong the first man to blame is the captain and then maybe the coach; but it’s the whole team and I am a team person. So it is an unfair criticism for Darren Sammy.â€

Alastair Cook and Andy Flower copped a lot of criticism and continue to do so ............
“I still was able to maintain a level of performance that they couldn’t say I wasn’t performing and maybe because Darren Sammy has gone through some of that where he has not been performing, he is under a little more pressure but as Curtly rightly said, it’s the make-up of the team and you need strong individuals around you – management, coaches and vice captain – to help pull you through,†Walsh said. “I think he has been lacking a little in that because he is not performing at his level. But if you look back at it, the team is just not performing as well as they can or as well as they should,†he added.
Phew !!! .... I can't believe Curtly and Cuddy defending Sammy !!! Next they might be defending Ottiss !!! :o
Wonder what they think of our shoddy bowling? Who should be held accountable for that? Are these guys even being coached? Ottis is foremost a bowling coach, right?
yu must depend on players to play their best for your place in the team. and not to be criticized or held accountable for the failure and for your own performance
what kind of argument is dat ::confused::
is Sammy a good enough player and captain regardless..qualities that show if you are winning or losing. and if they show when yuh losing then we can be sure that in any turnaround the capt would be even more prominent as player and leader ::confused::
Sammy is not good enough on any level..and winning or losing we all expect a low level of performance from him. in fact his place on the side due to the weight his pik puts on it drags down the team's performance...does not help it
This only proves that these legends are lackeys for the WIBC
They just want to ingratiate themselves with the WIBC so that they too can join the gravy train .
Windies cricket is really doomed when people like them who you would expect to know better just wants to maintain the status quo
