Form is temporary . Wink

Trini,

I think Shiv will walk in to most test teams in the World so to suggest he is taking up a place that could otherwise be Sarwan's does not seem to add up.

No one is keeping Sarwan out but Sarwan and he can only force his way back by the volume of runs he scores and the manner in which he does it.

Samuels would normally be very vulnerable.

No  one can deny that Sarwan was given all  the opportunity to redeem himself but he did not make use .
A cricketer of his abilities cannot decline so precipitously  if there were no extenuating reasons and that is why I believe that his problems are all psychological and it will be sorted out

Sarwan looks like a guy who can be traumatized..indeed was traumatized early and is now susceptible emotionally as a result.

so a skunt like Gibson can eff with his head, terrorize him and make him less than he is.  but also his precipitous and seemingly terminal decline can spring from early trauma too..and Gibson was merely a trigger..a figure who fits the mould of the cause of his early trauma by actions and pressure on him..Sarwan

we see such precipitous decline often enough...people who for no obvious reason decline from what they usually do exceedingly well... no matter how hard you look.  just so deh decline from the heights to nothing at all and everybody scratching deh head and wondering what the hell went wrong.

well yuh have to look inside the persons head for the answer..study deh life from day one to know.. to discover why.  but allyuh know all ah dat already.

to me Sarwan's issue is emotional not ability.  we know how good he is..that we have no one better save shive.  but what is wrong..how to get him back?

* Right now Kirk Edwards is ahead of Sarwan.

* If Sarwan hopes to play for the Windies again----he will have to score big in the 4 day first class competition.

what about Samuels, Rev?  he has been failing and we both know he is not a favorite of the selectors.

* Samuels failed badly in 2013---he averaged 24.42 in 7 tests.

* Samuels also did poorly in 2011---he averaged 32.00 in 8 tests.

* But Samuels had that one great year in 2012---he averaged 86.60 in 7 tests.

* So as long as Samuels is fit----he will continue in the #4 spot.

RE: EDWARDS VS SARWAN

* Right now Edwards is ahead----he scored a hundred last night in the 5th onedayer----and had 2 fifties in the tests against NZ.

Ok this team now need a man like Sarwan.

However he has done all to make his exclusion permanent.

Do you think that is unfair?

I think that is unfair to him. Reports stated that he is unfit to play. i think he deserves another  chance. Put him back into training and let him gain back his flexibility and vigor so he can prove himself once more.

* Sarwan will not waltz back into the West Indies team.

* He'll have to score big in the 2014 first class competition.

* Right now he is competing against Kirk Edwards and Marlon Samuels
