Can we take this man seriously as a batsman? Why are his ODI scores so good and his tests scores so poor?

Does anyone in the WI domestic/regional circuit have an average in the high 40s or 50s?

Wagner to Powell, OUT,.. Powell, who looks to have lost some concentration :ย  :-[

goes for the ramp, with the ball getting a feather-like edge...

Kieran Powell has a first class average of 35 in 57 matches----he is destined to be an ordinary or mediocre test cricketer.

* Kraig Brathwaite looks like he has some grit and determination in him.

Powell's average in FC is on par with others.

I do not think he is a waste of time as he has great potential and can contribute, lower down the order. The natural openers are Barath and Brathwaite.

I would bat Powell at 6. This is with Chanderpaul at 5 and Bravo at 3. Number 4 is up for grabs as Samuels is far too inconsistent as his accumulated average demonstrates.

What separates him from the rest is his English schooling .

Technique is proper .

Concentration is a mental process not available in supermarketsย  :-[

Not much different to Samuels or is it?

Yeah Powell hasn't impressed me the least bit - but then again, what are the alternatives? How's Barath holding up these days?
Technique alone means feck all - and yes, he has an OKish technique.
