as a diplomat wud not that expense be charged to the Indian government?

why in such a position would she risk it with fraud?

seems silly to me.

when people poor deh have to take great risks to get something if they very ambitious.

but when you set up a base like this one where you have god salary, position, exposure to  all kinds of contacts for future business purposes, virtually unlimited opportunity in your field....why risk it..especially in a country that doh necessarily like your type..even you think that they do.

there is no doubt now how they feel about you eh

wuh ? dont dwell on the maid not getting paid nor the falsified Visa  !

Devyani  has rights under the Vienna accord ...

First she is NOT a diplomat hence, she do not have any diplomatic rights under the Vienna Accord. She was just an EMPLOYEE of the government of India at their consulate in NY.

Y'all rass mad ...this case is about Diplomatic Immunity :

and Violation , thereof.

Weh de Snoopster ?

SHE DOES NOT HAVE DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY.  This is why the Indian government quickly posted her to their Mission to the United Nations Mission, this way they would try to argue that she has immunity - but its after the fact of committing fraud and lied on her visa application among a few charges.
