West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford has been suspended from bowling in international cricket and team-mate Marlon Samuels has been banned from bowling his quicker ball.

The pair were reported following the second Test against India and travelled to Perth to have their bowling actions independently assessed.

Following assessment, Shillingford's action has been found to be illegal and Samuels, when bowling his quicker delivery, is also guilty of bending his arm more than the permitted 15 degrees.

Shilly ..... 3rd time !!!!

Wasn't Samuels told some years ago not to bowl the quicker ball ??!!

Incidentally Sunil Narine and Trevon Cooper were 'called' a couple of years ago in a Busta Cup match .......

What I found extraordinary was Ottiss' comment "There are a few people around the world bowling with similar, if not worse actions, so I expect him to be cleared for sure."

Being 'called' and the results of a testing is two different things !!! This is all so very unfortunate ....... Ottiss must've known what was going on and what the outcome of the testing would be !!!!

In the long sleeved shirts ??!! ... ;D

It depends when Ketchim means.

If he means after the recent testing, long sleeved or not, he was definitely more round armed much like he was after the last set of testing but it does not seem to last.

I don't know - how do these tests work? I mean I could chuck on field and not chuck in there with some practice surely. I guess it's more of a case that Shilly is just unable to not chuck at all while bowling doosra. What a shame Shilly. Sort it out enough to pass the test.
Suspension sounds harsh, but inevitable I guess.

Oh Samuels blatantly chucks, his quicker delivery i.e. - he really got away with that shit a lot more than he should've. That's totally fair.

Whatever one may think of the rule, if in brach it is reasonable to be suspended.

My concern here is he has had about 13 years to sort this out and he has not. He needed corrective action all those years ago.

It would be sad but I would be amazed if this is not the end of this young man.
