This game proves the selectors and incompetent

I am actually seeing that now.

That's a typo on my part, sir. Did not mean to say SA, but rather, NZ.

" Mitchell Johnson is used in short sharp bursts and I am not sure I agree you can only get 5 good overs per test from Rampaul. He is an impact bowler so use him in spells of 6 overs. I would say 8 at the start and 5-6 overs spells thereafter. That will get you 24 overs in the day if required. In this test none of the seamers bowled 20 overs yesterday."

Good point. Rampaul can be used sparing as an aggressive Test bowler.

That seems a very interesting, if not strange, suggestion especially if you are talking tests. Are you suggesting 6 bowlers? I would think the Captain does not lend to a potent attack.

My suggestion was based on my assumption that Roach and Rampaul were injured.

I think Shilly, Narine, Holder, Santokie, Rampaul, Roach and Badree are our best bowlers. Sammy and Deo can bat, so they are also options. We should always pick our best 5 or 6. We also desperateny need to find a very fast bowler; someone like Tino,  but with movement and brains.

Dwayne Bravo should never bowl.

My ideal bowling squad for all formats: Narine, Shilly, Roach, Rampaul and X, where X is some undiscovered, fast, super bowler.

Sammy, of course, takes up a valuable spot in our team. He is taking up the spot for a potential star bowler, but this hypothetical star bowler isn't on the horizon, and Sammy bats better than our top order, so it's hard to rationalise dropping him.

I am not anti Sammy, but he has the knack of scoring a 50, after a very long time of doing little, when the focus is on him.

I am not a selector but I would certainly consider different options on all counts of captaincy, bowler and batsman.

Sammy does not Bat ...Sammy swings and hopes for the best :

Every so occasionally he racks up  a 50 .

Law of averages....

NZ almost made 450. We totally let them run away with the day.

Holder would be my option. I believe that  those conditions suits him

Whatever happened to Holder anyways?  :Smile

This game has totally gone down-hill. Nothing was learnt from the first test. West Indies keep getting bowled out for horrendously low scores.

Yeah Holder seems to be the better option, why not him?
Oh well - what are we saying? Ravi's not still in. WTF though.
